Neck injury puts paid to Schuey's return
Schumi won't be returning to an F1 grid just yet
The seven-time world champion was known to be suffering from a neck injury after a nasty motorcycle crash in February.
Schumacher’s news comes after a day’s private F1 testing in Mugello, where the apparent pain in his neck was deemed too much for him to take part in a full-blown F1 race.
This follows a statement from his representatives of neck pain after initial fitness testing, shortly after his return was announced.
Schumacher commented: “My neck cannot stand the extreme stresses caused by F1 yet. These are the clear results of the examinations we did on the course of the past two weeks and the final examination on Monday afternoon.
"As there were no improvements after the day in Mugello, I decided at short notice on Sunday to do that thorough examination on Monday."
He says that he tried to do everything in his power to get back on the grid, but sadly his attempts weren’t effective enough.
Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer will sub for the injured Massa at Valencia.

However it is probably best that he doesn't race again and his legend of dominance will live on. It would be a let down to his legacy if he were to return for a brief spell and get spanked. Whether that would happen or not isn't my point - just that there would be a risk of not being as dominant as he was in the past.

I was really looking forward to the latter, I must say.
Oh well. Just goes to show he's fat, out of shape & getting old (just like me, LOL) seeing as his body hasn't/can't heal in time.Obviously Schumacher's health has gotta come first and let's face it, he has nothing to prove.
Also I think the world would be expecting him to carry on where he left off and be top of the field in a car he's not driven.
Personally i've always thought the reserve driver should get the seat anyway, since surely that's his job!
I don't necessarily mean suddenly winning everything-I mean consistently putting that Ferrari a few places higher up the grid than it has any right to be.
But even as big Ferrari & Schumacher fan, I'm left wondering - could he really have hacked it?
Probably for the best, as others have mentioned, I'd hate to see shumi as a pack runner instead of the leader.
