Pre '66 grand prix cars @ Oulton Park

Ooooh yes!!! 15 F5000 cars, more saloons than you can shake a stick at, group B rally cars, classic sports cars and now this.

Yep should be a good meeting. I'll be there with the Formula Juniors.

FYI Saturday morning is testing, and practice is that afternoon with all races happening on Sunday and Monday.

Is there a current entry list for this, as I'd like to see just how many cars are in each race.

I hate it when these type events are over-hyped (not saying this one is of course) and you end up with a 40 minute race for 6 cars.

No , not yet.

I cant say how many Sports cars and Saloon cars will be there but going from last year there will be a LOT.

Also, I have it on VERY good aouthority that there are going to be 15 F5000s out. The reason why there are so many is due to it being there 50th anniversaty

Keep checking the HSCC site. THere should be one on there soon

It was purely out of interest as I'll be marshalling for at least 2 of the 3 days (may have to miss the Monday due to work commitments).

I have been for the last 3 years - especially seeing 3 Bentley's sliding around Druids about 3ft apart.

Don't like pushing them when they 'decide to have a rest' as they're sodding heavy.

you try blueing some of the races and see how lazy i am.

Especially when Judy Lyon is driving her F5000 (tho she is very good at spotting them)

Poor Judy, she gets no quicker! However, that Eagle F5000 machine she drives is total sex and she's always great on the mirrors too.

I'm really excited about this, not missed a Gold Cup since it was revived as an historic event about 8 years ago. Just a lovely atmosphere and some awesome racing. Did anyone see the Elan 26R battle between Sean Walker and Martin Stretton a few years ago? Absolutely astounding.

I think I'm displaying the Elise with the Cheshire Lotus Owners' Club so come and say hi. There's a few of us crossing the Pennines for it.

Was it busy last year? I was there a few weeks back (BMW Challenge, Silhouettes, Northern Sports & Saloons etc) and it was really quiet.... which was great as we were parked in the infield and could watch from the car.... (not that we did as it was ferking boiling!)

Wouldn't mind going one day over the BH weekend, but not if it's crazy busy....

It was busy but no where near BSB or BTCC busy. It was kinda in the middle. Defiantly worth going to!!

There is an extra race this coming Sunday 23rd your side of the Pennines that you might not know about as it's a late calender addition. Masters have put on an extra one day event at Donington which features a 40 minute Interserie invitation race with the big block CanAm cars you normally only see in Orwell Supersports Cup running with the Proto 70's cars. There is also a World Sportscars Masters race with a special Lola event incorporated in that. http://www.themastersseries.com/resources/1609_-_D...

John, it is already in the diary and I'm looking forward to it! Read about it in Autosport a few weeks ago. Will you be there with the Dodkins 717? I see it's reverted to the later bodywork again following its early-spec. return at Goodwood. I've posted something about the meeting for the Lotus boys but don't know how many will make it.

Yep, Frank Bradley will be driving the March in 717 spec, we had it at the Oldtimer GP a couple of weeks ago. I'm just finishing the re-prep off, should be ready to go by tomorrow night. It should be a good spectacle, it's quite a while since the big CanAm cars raced at Donington.

Yeah, they've been at Brands for years now haven't they? I did attend the Superprix in 2004 and was lucky enough to see ISC then, but Brands is a long way so don't go annually. The last time I saw ISC at Donington was in about 1996 when Chris Chiles was driving the 717. I was heart broken to see the pictures of the BRM P154 after its smash as well. Awful for those of us who love Group 7.

I'm sure the BRM will be back up and running, everything can be repaired with these cars, thankfully the driver was relatively OK.
