F1 "Silly Season"

So we're at that time of year again and the rumour mill seems to be going into overdrive once more.

Seems especially more so this year with the Massa situation and some big moves at Ferrari.

It seems to a general given that Alonso is going to be in a red car next year and who's alongside him would seem to depend on how quickly Massa comes back.

At the moment I'm thinking something like this:

Alonso/Massa @ Ferrari

Hamilton/Rosberg @ McLaren

Button/Senna? @ Brawn

Kovi/Grosjean? @ Renault

Kubica/Hulkberg? @ Williams

Vettel/Webber @ Red Bull (confirmed isn't it?)

Glock/??? @ Toyota

And as for the smaller teams, who knows?

I'm pretty sure Mallya will keep Fisi/Sutil at Force India.

As for Trulli, is there is whiff that he might get out of Toyota? Toyota itself is considering whether to remain in F1, but if they stay, I think Trulli/Glock is a reasonable line-up. Their problem is in their cars, not the drivers.

I can't help but at the concept. I'm sure they'll find two US drivers for their team, but they can't be expecting any awesome performances with two pure US drivers.

yes, thats kinda what i figured... they could build the most competitive car and still be a back of the grid team as they will only put americans in the drivers seat..

I was perhaps thinking Sutil might move on, he's shown some very promising drives at Force India this year hasn't he? I was also under the impression Malaya had a young Indian guy running in F2 that he wanted to promote upwards?

As for Trulli, didn't Toyota annonce this weekend that they were only retaining Glock?

What about Heidfeld in one of the Toyotas? He's better than Trulli and out of a job at the end of the season.

Got to be the best shout.

The remaining OEM's are going to have spread their supplies further next year and I still don't think that Toyota will be on the grid next season. I just don't see what they have to gain from it at the moment.

Plus Renault & Williams have previous don't they?

As for Heidfield surely his days are numbered? He's been in the sport so long and never achieved much, I think a career in Le Mans or DTM beckons to finish out his days.

And they are making loud noises about retaining Glock and dumping sleepy, sorry Trulli.

I know things change quickly, like Honda's pullout and BMW's decision but I think Toyota will stay.

Isn't the current thinking that they'll have either Alex Wurz or Pedro De La Rosa in the first car, then a septic in car 2 to keep the sponsors happy?
