Jensens hardly made the greatest choices career wise.

If he were to leave Brawn, and take the vacant seat at Ferrari this weekend, would he keep his current total and whatever points he scored with the Scuderia ?

He would keep his current total of points in the drivers championship I believe.

I believe in 1954 Fangio drove the first race or two in a Maserati because the Mercedes wasn't ready ... and he went on to win the World Championship - as may Button.

And of course Moss famously won the Argentine GP in a Cooper before completing an almost successful campaign with Vanwall

come on the only reason he is winning at the mo is he had the better car, but now the other cars are getting better and button dont look that good.

Im no button fan but hes whooping his team mate who has exactly the same car, maybe not last time out but he's ahead on points overall.

fair point, we should see next year how good he is when all the cars should be on top form, my money would be on hamiton and im a ferrari fan

There are over six billion people in the world; there are 20 drives in f1.
Of course, some top talents are filtered out by the cost of racing and sustaining a career, others are perhaps ended at an early age due to injury. Some may even never get the opportunity to race anything as fast as a kart. But the fact of the matter is, after two hours driving at phenomenal average speeds, they finish the race seconds apart.
The gap between these drivers is not so great. And the power swing this season has been so severe that it isn't a case of putting the best driver in any car and watching him destroy the rest of the pack. Is Hamilton the best? That certainly wasn't the verdict three months ago.
You put an average driver in the best car, he will win. You put the best driver in an average car, luck permitting, he won't. We'll never know who the best driver in f1 is at the moment - because, like Hamilton and Alonso at McLaren - different teams are suited to different drivers. Where does Button rank? You are in no position to judge.

The only reason anyone wins in F1 is because they have the best car at the time, an F1 driver with the best car and is not winning any races shouldn't be in F1. I can't think of many F1 champions over the last 20yrs who didn't win in the best car.

... you put Luca Badoer in a Ferrari and he's useless.

My money is also on Lewis next year as the rest wont have such a head start....Hopefully.

It will be great seeing Lewis V Alonso again. Alonso in a Ferrari just adds more drama to it. Roll on 2010.
