After this weekends DNF and the stewards still to make a decision on who was to blame for the coming together of the Brawn and Renault meaning that there could be a penalty come Monza for Button, who is going to win the WDC and would they deserve it???
A 16 point lead is nothing with 5 races to go, just ask Kimi and Lewis what happened in 2007. I for one would love Jenson to win and i cannot think of any other driver that would actually deserve it more.Would Rubens at 37+ be a credible winner and what would that mean for the sport? Vettels hot & cold performances in arguably the quickest car raises more questions than answers? Webber=1 win so far???
We kept hearing about what remaining tracks would suit the RedBull or the Brawn more but i honestly think after Force Indias performance in SPA,its almost impossible to now know how the cars will feature in the remaining races and i honestly dont know if the Brawns or the Redbulls will win another race this year with the emergence of the other teams.

Stewards have already ruled that no action will be taken, even if they hadn't so far, it wouldn't have been Button getting any sanction.
This year isn't like any other for a long time, we've had two dominant teams the last few years which was why it was possible for Kimi to come back from behind, you had to be in one of those dominant cars to stand a chance of big points. Thats not the case now so as long as Button keeps his head he should win this, he just needs to sort out qualy.

I would agree. I can't see any way that Button could be blamed for Grosjean's lack of experience, which caused the crash. If Button wins then he will have deserved it unless he truly is bottling it (Which I have to wonder about) and he only wins because of unusual events for everyone else but even then, that would not be the first time would it?
Personally if it's not Button then I'd like to see Rubens win it. Shows that the older generation can still cut it and I think his performances have been more consistant (and arguably) better than either of the Red Bull pair who have been very good on their day but not consistant enough to be worth champions.

If Button can get through this tough patch and deliver some good results in the remaining races then it will help his credibility no end. Who else though? Rubens couldn't touch JB in the first half of the season, while Vettel and Webber have hardly been consistently at the front...The most worthy will be the bloke with the most points - simple as really.
I'm sure there have been many a season where there have been dips in form at some time during a season either from the driver or by the car.
Whether Jenson has the gumption to pull himself and the team out of this apparent rut is yet to be seen.

I am leaning towards Barri emotionally, although each would be as worthy as the next in your list. JB and MW have just been in cars that IMO match their talent and car development capabilities for years. RB may not be streets ahead in either area, but has been held back by team orders when in good cars, which IMO now gives him the emotional edge.
However, none of them really fit into my very small set of exciting, attacking drivers that can grit their teeth and put a bad car in a finishing position which would be beyond its capability if any of them were in it.

I don't get the logic as to why he isn't worthy? He couldn't have driven better when his car was performing well, he has then picked up points in all but 1 race since. Some races Webber & Vettel SHOULD have won, or scored high, but havent, Belgium is a perfect example, so they are NOT worthy. RB could have won all those races that Button did at the start, but he didn't did he? So he isn't worthy either! Then last years champ Lewis, I was hoping that he was going to win every race, but how many times did he make a mistake that cost him points? Button isn't attacking like Lewis which seems boring, but I WISH last year that Lewis would of had the same attitude in some races.
Button has still got a 16 point lead, which is big, it could still be wiped out easy with the next two races, he has to get some good points soon, but I hope he takes the championship this year, personally, I think he deserves it.

Rubens gets my vote - In the dark years at Honda he was more impressive than Button, and a career as long and distinguished as his deserves a title.
For Button and Webber - I think this is their only chance to take a WDC in their career , and Vettel is a WDC of the future.
However, I struggle with the notion of seeing any of their names in the 'Hall of Fame' alongside Schumacher, Senna, Prost, Hakkinen, Alonso etc

Considering how much lead Button has, anyone who can beat him to the WDC would be worthy, IMHO. If he actually manages to lose the WDC this season, well, at the risk of being flamed to the last inch of my life by Button fans, I think all the slagging he suffered from naysayers will be justified.

Those are champions of champions. We're just talking about "mere" champions here.

To be honest I don't care who wins, I'm just glad we've gotten to this point in the season with 4 drivers still in very serious contention.
I voted Barrichello because if this is to be his last season (which many believe) it would be a worthwhile reward for all of his tireless efforts at Jordan, Stewart, Ferrari etc... and he has proven at each team to be a worthwhile driver. Plus he seems like a genuinely nice bloke, a rare thing in modern F1.

Hamilton will be in the 'hall of fame' after he wins next season Redlake27 said:

I seriously can't think of who to vote for
It does seem that no one wants to win the title that much this year doesnt it!
I suppose if pushed i do have to say its Jenson who deserves it most, cause his first 7 race were unbelievably good, and none of the others have had a run like that. They've ALL had some dismal races.
