Will Piquet jnr ever race in F1 again?

His dad has a team doesn't he? He won't be back in F1 purely because of his lack of talent. Alonso tried to blackmail Ron Dennis at the begining of spygate and he is still around because he can drive, everyone will have forgotten the current scandal by next year but Piquet's lack of points will be documented for the rest of time.

TBH I think Grosjean's performance has shown that Flav was right on this occaision.

But, with possibly 8 new cars on the grid next year and dad's wealth and connections, we may just see him again.

He will be driving for his father's team next year.

Would any other team take him? I don't know, he doesn't appear good enough to win a place on merit (as in, Alonso will still drive because they know he is good, and winning drivers = money) so I don't think his deliberate crash will go against him as much as a lack of real talent.

Renault announce that they are pulling out of F1 at the end of the year.
Piquet Sr buys the team for Junior.

Et voila Piquet Jnr is back in F1.

Not a chance, I dont think even the Piquets could see this as a good option!

He'll just keep his head down for a bit and appear in another daddy funded scheme somewhere else - Probably in the USA would be my bet.

I would never say never for NPJr, but I do think it is unlikely...especially on merit.

Undoubtedly it was effectively a 1 car team, but Piquet could have shown touches of class driving now and again. But he didn't.

Piquet Jnr was only required to earn 40% of the number of points Alonso earned in order to keep his seat. That was not an unreasonable condition, IMHO. But he failed.

"Never" is a very big word. But I think it is highly unlikely that he will be hired by any F1 team unless his father can leverage him in.

Have a look at Piquets stats for this season, it isn't any better. Give Grosjean a few more races to get himself together, remember testing has been very limited this season so I think he's doing an ok job so far, especially considering the turmoil that must be going on in that team behind the scenes at the moment.

Have a look at Piquets stats for this season, it isn't any better. Give Grosjean a few more races to get himself together, remember testing has been very limited this season so I think he's doing an ok job so far, especially considering the turmoil that must be going on in that team behind the scenes at the moment.

Piquet made the dizzy heights of a 12th IIRC... but yes, nil points in the box for him.

Interesting that people are saying to give Grosjean a chance, yet Badoer doesn't get afforded the same grace.

Well Grosjean is a young driver whereas Badoer never impressed when he was in F1 10 years ago and he's obviously not going to get any better now. I have to feel sorry for Badoer, he was on a hiding to nothing really.

Anyway to answer the OP, No chance what so ever with the existing teams. If daddy buys him his own F1 team then of course we'll see him back. Has he earned his place in F1? Not a chance!!
