I'm sure I read on one of the BBC Sport Blogs that HD was to be available for the whole 2009 season but the BBC weren't prepared to pay Bernie the extra he wanted for it.
I also seem to recal reading more recently that Spa was the first race where the on board cameras were HD, so what is special about the final race?

Lots of the kit that's used is 'HD ready' but not major parts of the workflow aren't. My understanding is that FOM won't be going HD for at least another 2, maybe 3 seasons.Marcia said:

If the BBC are going to show the race in HD this website would be a good place to keep an eye on
OT - mate did a couple of races as a camera man for FOM. He was very well looked after, very good hotels etc. - he was offered a full year but turned it down to cover football in the UK.

I'll do some more gentle probing tomorrow as I'm back at work, but at the moment I've heard nothing that would suggest so.

I've got a couple of Japanese races on my HTPC from an NHK feed. Japan has been broadcasting high-definition for decades...they do not pass off upscaled SD as HD.

The Japanese HD feed is a local arrangement.
