Classic GP's on the BBC red button

Did anyone else enjoy the classic races being shown on the BBC Red Button last night? I have only just discovered them, even though they have been showing them all year apparently

They are showing various GPs that are not on the calendar anymore as well as Singapore 2008

Last night I caught Dallas '84 (Mansell pushing his car over the line then collapsing) and Mexico '90 (Mansell taking Berger on the outside of Peralta)

Mansell always seems to feature in the classic races.

Not quite as bad as Valencia though, although at least the Spanish trackbuilders layed down tarmac which stayed down. The Dallas race was very good though, especially with Mansell at the end. Pushing the car over the finish line, and fainting while doing so, now THERE is commitment

I caught this last night, agree Dallas was p£$$ poor, and as for Sue Ellen present ing the trophy........... Pam Ewing would have been much better.;)

Prost's drive in Mexico faultless, 13 on the grid to finish first, its a shame we do not see these type of charges these days.

On BBC 1,2 or news 24(if you have freeview or sky)press your red button go to sport multiscreen and it gives you a list of options press which ever number represents the classic GP's.Actually it's better on freeview because it has it's own channel in the EPG,either 301 or 302 so you can record that channel if you want,but we've just got sky and it does'nt have it's own channel so can't record have to press the red button

Note too how close Keke could follow Elio in those fast corners. With no front wings and all the downforce coming from the underbody, it was possible for those guys to actually race. I also liked the grass bank run off that Patrese mounted, more like Cadwell Park than any of todays Autodrones.
The big question is, who is going to be next years Prost when no refuelling is allowed? I was never a fan of his back in the day, but he actually had to pass people back then.

What gets me about these old GPs is that there is no pit lane speed limiter and yet incidents in the pitlane are very rare. There seems to be more problems these days.

Did you see the lady running to escape the wayward Brabham? I remember seeing that at the time. She was EXTREMELY lucky.
