Flavio and Autocar?

Just read Autocar and a surprising (to me) and wierd calming defense being made of Flavio Briatore - and on more than one page coming from hacks Cropley, Henry etc.

Poor soul Flavio has been hard done-by was the message it was sending to me... Really! What next?

Will it soon be
'Flavio writes for ...'?

Haven't read Autocar yet but I agree that Flav has been hard done by.

To ban someone for life is ridiculous.

Either way it will be overturned as they are taking away his ability to earn.

Can he not earn outwith the FIA umbrella? Seems a strange reason for the ban being overturned. As far as i know he is still earning millions from all of the other business's he is involved in(fashion and medicine).

If the FA kick a footballer out for drug taking or match fixing then he can easily go and play football in La liga or Seria A or god forbid he gets a day job like the rest of us.

His main income came from being team boss and driver management, both of these have been taken away. I suppose he could go and run an indoor karting track.

No it never, the guy was partners with the Benneton clothing brand at its peak when franchises appeared all over the High Street. He is still involved in fashion and he actually owns a Pharmacutical company.

The guy is multi-millionaire and its not from F1 prize money or being Webber or Heikis manager.

As I have previously said I think he will get the decision overturned using the law which prevents you from taking away someone's ability to earn.

I guess we will have to wait and see if I am correct.

I am fairly confident that a LEGAL argument could be made to effect a revision of the FIA ban. Whether or not this in fact reflects the real world PERSONAL income of Mr Briatore is the pertinent point.

True but the FIA are a law onto themselves and have obviously looked at most angles. I would be happy to see Flavio do them over.

You appear to be confusing yourself. I notice you seem to make a habit of this, so will try and make things clearer.

Perhaps my choice of words was wrong, but I did not say that I thought he made his fortune from Renault or from F1. I know he has other sources of income, but still think that he will convice a court of law that this ban effects his ability to earn and he will therefore get it overturned.

This is all I have to say on the matter. Now why dont you go outside, suck up some fresh air, find yourself a social life and stopping being such a tt.

Why would they overturn the decision for that reason?

A doctor/dentist/lawyer if guilty of serious misconduct would be struck off by their professional bodies and possibly never allowed back. They can still "earn", but just need to find another career. Likewise, Briatore can find work in other fields.
