go kart racing

hi all, i'm seriously thinking about selling the motorbike and buying a decent racing go kart and starting racing, could anyone give me any help as to where i should start looking?

what karts are good?
where can i race?

etc etc?

any help much appreciated

Try club100 before you buy all your own kit. They are the first call you should be making.

I'd advise giving club 100 / easykart a go to begin with. You'll get some good 2 stroke experience on championship tracks at minimal cost. If you want to get serious you'll have to get a go karting pack from the msa and then do an arks test. The choices then are whether you want to do 2 or 4 stroke karting. Personaly I prefer 2 strokes so doing rotax at club level would be my choice. It isn't cheap but it is fun.

I would suggest going down to the local track, which judging form your profile is http://www.three-sisters.co.uk/ near Wigan. Turn up to a couple of their meetings, talk to the people who race, get a feel of the classes and what’s involved and take it from there. One thing you should definitely not do is buy all your equipment now and then find out its no good.

I'm in the same boat, been wanna do this for ages, but neva had the funds or the time. My 1st stop is to try a test session at Club 100. Its £105 for an hr session. 2 Stroke single engines.

Unless you're refering to the MSA go karting pack, that's the only time you'll get away with it because that's what it's called. They also do a go racing pack, for people that want to try go racing cars.

22 horsepower is plenty enough for a start and they race at PF International in Linconshire

I know its not North West, but heres some thing in the North East. Might be worth giving them a shout to find karting in ur local area!

They also organise a 24hr Karting race, at the Kart track at LeMans (Circuit De Le Alan Prost).

My mates have taken part for the last couple of years, I'm hoping if quick enough to get a drive & ur more than welcome to come along.
