Barrichello to williams confirmed

Multiple Brazilian media sources are reporting that Rubens Barrichello has now signed a contract to switch to the Williams Formula One team from 2010.

The emerging news was on Monday played down by the Brazilian veterans camp, but the same story is now being confidently reported by major outlets including Globo television and the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper.

In Williams official preview of the Brazilian Grand Prix, the team listed as a Hot Topic What next for the driver market

Folha de S.Paulo said the deal is for the 2010 season with an option to include 2011, and represents a significant pay rise for the native Paulista, whose place at Brawn is to be taken by Nico Rosberg, who has driven for Williams since 2006.

The Brazilian sources also believe 2009 GP2 champion Nico Hulkenberg will be 37-year-old Barrichellos team-mate

Barri's definitley signed for Williams.

The details are that he's getting twice as much as he is at Brawn and win bonuses - done deal.

I think Hulkenburg will partner him - though i didn't get the whole conversation

Kimi is going to Mclaren - Nico to Brawn

Exactly, who does he think he is? What has he done exactly apart from post fastest laps when they dont count?? Sure he won the WDC in 2007 when Mclaren imlpoded but he should take whatever Mclaren offers him. They obviously want him so whats the issue Kimi?

He knows what he is - one of the top 4 drivers on the grid.

Saying that, he's said he only wants a championship winning car and McLaren would seem to be the best bet for that.

Yep, I dont want a job then I price high, if it comes in they great Im happy with the money but not bothered if it doesnt.

Same for Kimi I suppose.

I believe he has been offered that sort of money by Toyota and has tried, unsuccessfully so far, to use it as a bargaining chip with McL.

I assume Kimi and his management will be popping into Woking on the way to Brazil to tie it up.

I'd have liked to have seen Barricello go to a new team and really use his experience to try and bring, say Lotus, up to a competative level.

Much rather that than him sit in a midfield team that wont compete with the big boys again next year.

Im fully aware that Williams have a great tradition in the sport, but they seem to have lost their way in the last few years, and cant see it changing next year either.

Enlighten us please? It must be Brawn? Redbull surely dont have the funds to pay Kimi and i very much doubt they will have a championship winning car either next year.
