For those not aware there is a group of greenies hell bent on Spa having their licence revoked due to noise, or maybe there are after a payoff who knows.

Click on the green "je desire signer..." and fill out your name in the first column, first name in the second column, address and so on, ("Pays" is country for those who dont know, I didn't) Tick the little box at the bottom (je desire...) and then click the box on the right and it'll go through

king NIMBYs can foxtrot oscar imhoI don't mean to discourage a good cause.. Surely, though, signed petitions rate among the most ineffective means of accomplishing just about anything.
Slightly more potent would be 4416 people calling up the head office of said anonymous 'group of greenies' or the relevant politicians and voicing their personal opinion, then there would be a bit more motivation for either or both groups to pay attention.
To be even more cynical, one would think that in the end its going to be a matter of who has the most $$$. In which case, I don't really see any legitimate threat coming from a 'group of greenies.'
edit: and indeed, according to the other thread, it would appear that order of common sense has been restored?

To add a little perspective here (as there was a large thread about this some time ago).
I think the locals themselves petitioned to have the road network improved etc and the track made available for use.
Now though, they have a lot of track days (it is probably the most sought after track day destination after 'the ring' perhaps) and a lot of noise comes from tyre squeel etc, which can be a lot more annoying that just exhaust or engine noise.
However, I am still of the opinion that anyone moving to that region should sign a disclaimer agreeing that they are fully aware of the tracks historical presence and importance, and accept that there may be 'race track related noise'.
That way we could hopefully avoid these few petty morons ruining things for everyone else. It will damage the locals just as much if the circuit isnt available for use!
