Online betting on F1. Best place?

Every year I say I'm going to put some bets on the forthcoming F1 season but this year I actually will.

Can somebody recomend a reputable and safe place to bet online on F1? I have never done this before so don't know were to start.

I use paddy power, odds are usually pretty good and it's a user friendly site.

I've always thought betting on F1 is slightly mad. The threat of mechanical failure, weather, other drivers, the length of the races.. Surely you don't do it for the money.

William Hill and Bet365 are also worth checking. Their on-line web sites are easy to set up and use. There are other on-line bookies and if you have accounts with several, you can shop around and get the best prices for your fancies. There's often a wide variation in some odds so having access to several bookies will help secure the best odds for any wagers.

I consider myself a good judge on several sports ~ Football, F1, Tennis, Snooker, Classic Flat and Top Class Jump racing plus one or two others that interest me. I never bet on sports or events that do not interest me. To do that is real gambling .... if you get my drift.

Consider this: There's a wide variety of wagers you can have on any F1 event. The range is huge. Wins, Podiums, Points, Qualifying, Driver match races, Fastest lap, leader after 1 lap, 5 laps, 10 laps .... just to mention a few.

Sometimes the best of the rest of several group bets ( the mid-grid, back grid 'also rans' races in fact ) can provide good value sometimes when you've had a good look at grid positions after qualifying and fuel loads are known.... For me it's nice to win a few quid occasionally but, being right is more important to me.... I'm not always right but have been quite frequently ~ which is nice from all aspects....

another vote for william hill here. Very easy to use and set up and often get free bets through. Many markets for every type of bet as above.. Leaders after pre set laps. points. Team to win. First crash etc

I put a £50 bet down, i banked £2450 this week! Whose mad now?

All bookmakers will be making their own books. Just shop around for whoever has the best odds for the bets you wish to make.

No need to worry where you place a bet, unlike bankers dishonest bookmakers would be out of business in a flash

A freind told me last night how one of his work colleagues had put a fairly small bet on Button before Brawn even existed and has just picked up his £12k winnings!

I thought it was BS until he showed me the clipping from the local paper.

I have started betting on the GPs just to add another dimension to the race. My wife and I put a fiver each on each race and we are only a few pounds out of pocket! She is the one ahead though!!!!

We use Ladbrokes and it seems fine.

Top result! I saw the shakedown footage and thought it looked brilliant, the odds were dropping quickly after that, a day earlier and i would have probably doubled the payout. I wasnt a very smart gambler as Brawn had double the odds of Button, but i put more on Button to win. If I'd have done it the other way round i would have banked £3650. Doh.

I have not used my bet365 account ( in credit for a couple hundred quid ) for some months and got an email from them recently suggesting if I placed a further deposit ~ minimum £10 ~ I would have a free bet to the same deposit value subject to easy to follow conditions. It was a 'sales tool' to stimulate interest and worked! I took advantage of that for rather more than the £10 mininmum transfer.

By being in too much of a hurry a lot of the time, I ignored my other bookies on-line email boxes and when I checked them recently, discovered that I had a number of free bet offers which were then too late to take advantage of. So, check those email boxes and keep 'em peeled...
