Button this weekend - prove me wrong!

So if JB really is the best driver this season and now the pressure is off him he should walk this weekend shouldn't he? I mean, if like you fanboys have been saying since Round 7, that he is just trying to score a few points and not take any risks now that he can take risks he should easily be able to challenge for a win!

Or could it be that he really is that mediocre and that he has been trying his best since Round 7 and it's only his good start to the season that saw him crowned WDC?

Has it occured to you the CAR does not have the advantage it did at the start of the season?

No one will get near the Mclaren this weekend ,if the FP's look like a guide.
Having said that, Button has just gone fastest!

Sure he's good!

This has been done to death, many times .

An excellent driver in a superior car will win. When that car loses it's advantage ,an excellent driver can suddenly look average.

For the first time in his F1 career, JB had a car capable of winning him the title, and he took that opportunity.

If the car had been rubbish at the start of the year and then improved and had won the last 6 out of seven races then he would be being hailed an absolute hero - and yet the real situation would be no different.

I takes a whole season to make a Champion, not just one race!

I think Jenson has really shown his quality since round 7 by maximising his points haul EVERY TIME (except Spa) in a car that clearly was no longer at the top. Furthermore, it is these performances since round 7 that have won him the championship in my view. Yes, he won the first 6 of 7 races, but it has been his ability since then to maximise every situation to keep him ahead of his rivals. Mediocre drivers can't do that can they?

I think button will do well this weekend, the pressure is off and i think we'll see him put in a solid drive and be on the podium.

But i think the race is Lewis'

I often read topics created on PH in the General Motorsport section, questioning whether actual racing drivers use this forum or not.

I think this topic, mainly the opening posters post, highlights the reason why they don't.

So why has Rubens been beaten 6-2 in race wins then? Qualifying doesn't win you a world Championship title, it only gives you glory on Saturday and the race is on Sunday.

If you can't support every British competitor in top flight racing (be it Button / Hamilton / Smith / Webb / Camier / Rea to name but a few) - and god only knows British drivers & riders need all the support we can give them - then just fk......right.......off.
