Video: BMW Celebrates 10 Years in F1
It's 'thanks for the memories, Munich' as BMW bows out
As BMW Power gently closes the door on another chapter in its rich Formula 1 history, now the 2009 season has drawn to its end they leave us with only this video memoir of their last 10 years in the sport.
Its hard to believe a decade has passed since BMW's return to F1 for the 2000 season, 17 years after Nelson Piquet drove a BMW-powered Brabham to world championship victory in 1983. The well-edited video certainly doesn't lay off on the melodrama - but signs off with the words: 'see you on tracks around the world'.
So put down the Kleenex, you big jessies, they'll be back! (Someday, somewhere...)

Not much good at F1, or Rallying or touring cars, for a while. Hmmm.
Well, yeah, I suppose those three World Touring Car Championships and a European Touring Car Championship the year before that just a couple of years ago, don't really count for much...
They'll concentrate on GT2 in ALMS and Le Mans now, perhaps even have a cut at an LMP again, it'll certainly be a damn sight cheaper than being in F1, whatever they choose to do. And more aligned to their product range.

At least they saw one of their drivers crowned as World Champion. Just a shame he wasn't in the team when it happened
Likewise Vettel and Webber have done pretty well for themselves since leaving BMW, I guess that bodes well for Kubica, though I suspect Heidfeld has a fate more in common with Ralf Schumacher and Montoya.
