S40 touring car drivers of the past?

Hi Chaps,

Met a so called ex-touring car esq driver on holiday.

All I got was his first name, but he clamed to have done a lot karting and biking. To my suprise, he then claimed to have done a bit of touring car work with Volvo, specifically the s40.

So- can anyone remember any drivers with a first name of "Matt", other than Matt Neal, who might have done a bit of touring car work in the last ten years?

Personally, I thought he was chatting out of his rear.

Could he have been a test driver maybe, in which case he may have been an unknown.

Look in the Season Galleries for all the drivers, but I do not recall a Matt.

Matt Neal never drove a Volvo AFAIK.

Volvo S40s also raced in Australia and Sweden.

Hi Chaps,

I wish it was Mattias ekstrom, but he was English and now working full time in sales, aged guessing 35-40 (dont want to go into to much detail about him, as he may well be a PH lurker!).

Anyways, by the looks and sounds of it, he may well have been a test/development driver who never really made it in to the big time.

He knew Kelvin Burt fairly well. I should have chatted to him for longer, but the other half was getting annoyed with racing talk!

Also shows the reality to racing- he had his fun, is now working hard to pay the bills!

That very much depends on whether or not it results in a kinky sex session with 3 hot (but a bit thick) chicks or not

in my youth, I remember going to Oulton Park a few times and seeing
Calvin Burt & Rikard Rydell

and they were driving 850 T5 before the S40's too !

I'll let you know if that ever happens... so far the hit rate is pretty poor
