Who Will Replace Bridgestone?

Just wondered what the PH masses think. I reckon sensible money is on Michelin or Goodyear, but knowing Bernie he'll somehow screw it up so they get linglongs.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Kumho personally.

Haven't Michelin said they will only do it if there is some competition so wouldn't be interested in 1 make.

No Idea. We need to see the tender details to see what the terms will be. It wouldn't surprise me if Bernie/Todt are working on keeping Bridgestone, by dropping all the huge costs they currently have to shoulder.

Same, would be pretty big boost for their image as well

This. If they were to drop the $150M punitive damages bit of the contract, and perhaps got the teams to pay a %age of the true cost of the tyres rather than getting them free, then Bridgestone could stay.

Having said that, the damages bit will probably have to go anyway as I can't see ANY tyre company bidding in the current financial climate if the terms stay as they are now
