I've used them for odds and sods in the past, and as you say very good value for money for spacers and half nuts etc. Not sure I'd want to use the rose joints in safety critical areas though, call me cynical but I don't think the price difference to something like Goldline is all marketing mark-up.

Since you have been using them for a bit longer, have you had any problems.I cant find anyone showing goldline prices, but the NMB are 5 times the price and seem to be half the rated load, at 20,000 lb where the McGil ones are rated at 40,000 lb.
The 1/2" x 1/2" rose joints that are the most common joint on the Tuscan from these McGill guys are rated at 16,238 lbs. The Aurora PRM-T joints I use are rated at 23,310 lbs. That's quite a big difference on a safety critical item.
I don't believe in buying something expensive just for the sake of it, but I have to say these would make me nervous. How do they produce them at a fraction of the cost of all the other bearing manufacturers, whilst maintaining quality and consistency?

mcgill have more than one range, I used some of their heavier duty stuff which was rated the same as the other brands.
If you compare them side by side you can see how they are cheaper, a simpler bigger and heaver casting with poorer quality seals etc.
As an interesting side effect, as I know they are cheaper i watch them like a hawk, and check them more closely than the goldlines..

Well I got them today,
Would have had them yesterday if they did not send me someone else's order, but they sent a return bag, and a replacement out as soon as I phoned, was also very friendly and helpful.
They don't seem as rough as what G was saying. maybe not as highly finished as the NMB ones.
I was not 100% sure they sent the right ones, as I order some others lesser Q for to make a turn-buckle, so gave them a ring, but they had upgraded them as they did not have any in-stock, hence the cheaper smaller ones being the same as the more expensive ones.
The guy said they was cheap as they order 100,000 at a time, as they supply all over Europe, they also supply the Lotus special products division, and also TVR in Preston have recently put in a order.
Even though my order was very small he was interested in what they was being used for, and was very friendly and helpful, and was very confident of the Strength and quality of his Rod Ends.
Have to see how they last, but as G said he's not had a problem, but could be a very good and cheap source of rose joints, for us on a budget. esp as the NMB's that was on my car have worn out and are £90 each to replace. (they maybe the original ones plus the car has been used a lot, so they have done well)
