They do it in rally cross I think?
Part of the circuit has 2 routes one of which can only be used a limited number of times. I swear I've seen that on TV. Seemed to work well in that format. However when you watch an F1 car do 20 laps stuck behind another slower car but never close enough to overtake. Then they just manage to get past in the pit stops say. Slow car then takes the shortcut and you're back to 20 laps of 1 car never close enough to pass the other.

I guess we should be thankful thats he's keeping the media interested through the off season and winding things up into a bit of a frenzy with his usual 'news mongering' - all keeping the interest up and hopefully encouraging some big money sponsors to keep the teams afloat.
BUT, why is it necessary at every opportunity to turn the worlds stomachs by kep mentioning that this bizarre stroke ridden dwarf is interferring with a young attractive modelesque woman.

Am I the only person who imagines Bernie sitting by himself in his office laughing hysterically, then telling his closest friends about his latest joke he’s just thought up at the expense of the journalists and people debating this on the internet?
I think we shouldn’t forget that Bernie has a decent sense of humour and has no problems winding people up with this sort of statement.
If I was in his position I'd certainly make this sort of announcement just for giggles

Bernie is known for the odd very dry practical joke every now and then. This is his idea of an attenion raiser and also a humerous aside type thing. He knows exactly what reaction there will be, just as he did for the Gold medal idea last year.
It isnt by random he comes out with this stuff, it isnt a co-incidence.
The mad dwarf is saner, more rational and more intelligent than 99% of the morons on here.

Exactly, less on track overtaking because people will just wait to use the short cut. Overall overtakes would increase but only because of people using a shorter bit of track, which is hardly excitement is it? Surely the best part of F1 is two drivers dueling, rather than sitting back knowing they have a safe option of a shortcut to use up... On track wheel to wheel overtaking is what people want to see more of, not just bypassing a section of the track, destroying the art of overtaking and the art of defending a line.The stupidity of this suggestion is on par with his 'medals' system, someone get rid of this guy.

I propose the introduction '?' boxes as well.
Inside the boxes could be a variety of; Banana skins, Green/Red/Blue Shells, Stars, Lightnings, etc.
How about we do away with the JCB's if cars get stuck off track, and instead we could get a Floating Cloud with a fishing rod to pick the cars up and get them back on the track again.
