good fun so far. Watching it on the speed feed from justin.tv

Interesting to hear David Hobbs

Also amazed at th driver lint-up. A good selection from accross the US racing series, with a few others for good measure

Still think the Grand-Am cars look awful, regardles of colour scheme

Not too keen on the Lizards livery for (hopefully just) this race.

The Grand Am cars really are ugly.

Isn't American TV awful?

Thankfully back on Eurosport 2 myself now, with the added benefit of Hindy and 'Angry' Martin Haven.

+1

US commercials are great, "a commemorative $50 gold buffalo coin, yours for only $19.95".

Its a shame the TV coverage over here is restricted to just the start and finish on Eurosport (web feeds aside) as the Rolex is a simply stunning event - and something of a gem that a lot of people in Europe don't know a great deal about.

The DP cars are an acquired taste but having seen and heard them close up at the event last year, they are mega bits of kit and the circuit itself is amazing. When you see them three wide on the banking, you'd be surprised how steep and how narrow it actually is!

If anyone watching fancied going next year, i'd certainly recommend it.

Here's hoping the race can match last year, but it'll have to go some way to match the final hour from 2009...

The Lizards entry is a tie-up with TRG for this race only, so would expect a return to 'normal' livery wise for the ALMS season.

Give me the American coverage any day, at least the commentators are knowledgeble, dont rabit on about absolute nonesence, not in a total state of confusion most of the time and........are not thousands of miles away from the action.
A few years ago when NASN covered NASCAR they just showed the FOX coverage with no UK input at all, even during the US ad breaks we got exclusive in car coverage. great stuff and much missed.

It was the ads that were (are) my gripe. Just awful.

I wouldn't say Hindy and Haven aren't knowledgeable either, but I can see that they may not be everyone's cup of tea.

I'd assume they're sat there getting the same feed the viewer gets on Eurosport, so perhaps they're not getting fed any extra info and are having to call it as they go? Can't say I find Martin Haven too bad in all honesty.

The FIA GT1's wouldleave the DP's for dead...and it is a shame the GT1's will not be running in the USA this year. Something to be worked on for the future.
