How to spend Sunday afternoons this summer....????
Discussion
Well, the F1 rule changes seem to have made F1 even more dull than I ever remember.....
Spent much of the last two seasons telling a friend that F1 had changed for the better and that every race was now exciting....
But this race is so dull already that I'm actually thinking about what I should be doing out the garden today instead..... got a wall that needs repainting, thinking of triming back an apple tree. Might even clean up the dog sh*te instead of wasting my day watching this dull parade.
What you going to do this year intead of watching F1???

I have really been looking forward to this years F1, but after the 1st 20 laps or so I have decided that this may be the dullest year of F1 ever!
Sitting here thinking I must keep watching as it may get better, but I also know I need to finish pressure washing the patio - think I may head into the garden

Can I watch the wall after you've repainted it? Yes I know it's not the greatest track, I know a lot can be impacted by the TV director's choices but goodness me that was dull...
Wondering if it was done deliberately the spilt the interesting 8 laps between the very start & very end to give time for a Mother's day lunch in the middle?

What is the official reason for the rule change? I hate having to defend F1 to non interested parties and the last couple of year spoke for themselves. I'll keep on watching as I am fan for life, but I hope they have enough sense to realise and admit a step backwards if that's what this is. in mean time I'll be paying more attention to British Touring cars and IRC this year I think.

Tony, I don't wish to quell your enthusiasm here, but might you be leaving it a it late to trim the apple tree.Spent much of the last two seasons telling a friend that F1 had changed for the better and that every race was now exciting....

A hard prune over the winter or maybe a lighter trim mid summer when fruits have set, but it's using all of its energy now trying to set buds for blossom and might benefit from being left for now.
That said, it looks like a very late spring this year and I don't know how far north you are... and what the feck do I know anyway?

Also, painted the wall in front of the house and repainted the garage!!!
Now thats a Mothering Sunday NOT wasted.

Anyone remember the magnificent Group C when it became a "fuel economy" formula - immensely frustrating to watch quick cars and superstar drivers lapping at a certain pace to ensure they would reach the chequered flag at a statistically perfect combination of speed and frugality (and forget the spectacle).
Today felt the same, how many seconds off qualifying pace were the front runners (see below)??
