£185 Silverstone race day tickets poll

After todays very boring Bahrain F1, do you think you are more or less likely to put out the £185 to go to the British GP this year?

I went to the DTM at Brands a few years ago, two grandstand seats were £50.

fk that, they've still got 3 day terrace passes for less than that. I'll go if I can wangle a freebie but I'm not paying for that ste. I'd rather watch the proper racing at the goodwood revival it's better racing and much better value.

Yep! £52 each. Anyhow, where did this £185 ticket price evolve from? Race day tickets are £120.

no where near. They've still got loads of 3 day tickets. Copse a-e and general entry are sold out but there's loads of three day terrace passes and grandstand tickets left

Ive paid £260 for my 3 day ticket on the start/finish straight - that was an early bird ticket though.

Yup, you can do LM for £250 a head comfortably including all travel, food and drink. I live 45 mins from Silverstone and I'd struggle to do the whole GP weekend there for that price once I'd paid for the terrible overpriced burgers.

If Silverstone let more people in, they could charge everybody less. Instead they artificially limit the number of spectators, then divide their budget by this (too-low) number of people, resulting in the daft ticket prices being quoted.

A Sunday GA pass for Australia is £70; the same for Germany. In Hungary, the same is £105. In Italy, one can get a 3-day GA pass for just under £100, whereas Spa charges £167 for the 1-day pass (but only £171 for a 3-day pass).

These are all "general admission" passes, i.e. no grandstand seats. Silverstone don't seem to have GA passes available (is that right?) - the cheapest option I've found is a 3-day terrace pass for £207 a pop.

Overall, however, I'm afraid I resented giving up 2 hours of my time to watch the TV (for free) this afternoon; I would have been beside myself with rage if I'd spent significant amounts of money to watch this, in person or otherwise.
