Apologies if this has been done before, but just curious how many F1 fans on here in Europe get up early to watch the races in the East and Australia live, or just watch the re-run at the more sociable hour?

None of the above; set the V+ box to record it and start watching when I get up.

Live, otherwise you lose the ability to watch the live timing on the F1 website, which adds significantly to the enjoyment of the race for me.

I try my best to watch the early ones live, however sometimes sleep catches up with me before I can enjoy any racing

Live without fail. No matter where.
Unless im at work, in which case it is sky+'d, and i spend the day turn the radio off at work every time the news comes on biggrin

I remember last year, i was on holiday in the Dominican Republic when the Jap GP was on.
Cue me sat up at 2am trying to find a channel with it on, and trying to decipher the Spanish commentary.

I get up at 5 to go to work anyway, so I get up and watch it live.

Every time I try and watch a race on the repeat or I record it I manage to find out the result before I get to watch it, which completely spoils the surprise.
Its even less fun when you know that nobody will manage to overtake in second half of the race because the result is shown on the news just before the replay starts and your too hungover to mute the TV when you realise some idiotic newsreader is about to tell you something you have been trying to avoid all morning.

Nice! I'm tempted to do the whole Grand Prix specific food thing for each race this year, make it a bit more varied than the usual nachos...

I Sky+ it and watch it in the morning but forget it is a recording so I put the "Live" timing on my laptop and see the result of the race that finished a few hours ago. I then shout "Sh*t I've done it again" and am in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

I watch the re-run because I've usually been out the night before. I do refuse to have any contact with people who might know the result though.

Normally live, but based on the first race, "live" is not an accurate description of the level of excitement. I have only missed a handful or races in the last 20 years, but I may if it does not improve.
