I'm hopefully off to the Malaysian Grand Prix on the 2nd, anyone got any tips on best tickets, Grandstands etc?

If Bahrain is anything to go by I'd take a good pillow

I went last year and got wet very very wet.
Get the train out and then the shuttle bus. We had tickets on the pit straight, you can or could upgrade on the day.

So you didn't go to the race then? Or are you seriously saying that you enjoyed the race, sorry I meant procesion!

An umbrella would be a worth-while investment!
Hopefully this years race will be like last years - only without the red flag.
It would add some much needed excitement to a possibly dull season...

I feel bound to say that we all joined in the bandwagon to create over the procession that was the first GP this year. But what so many people do miss is that LIVE a Grand Prix car at full noise with guys like Alfonso giving it seven bells in itself is still a brutal SPECTACLE. So 20 in a line is quite awesome; it's just on small screens that there's no drama ...

You need a covered grandstand as otherwise any skin exposed to the sun will burn in minutes!

Depends what you want to Pay, Pit lane Streight is good but the pit building block the view unless you are at the start or top, then you can see turn 5 and 6, back streight is the best vies towards the end, you can see turn 9 which is good for overtaking, and from turn 8 to 14. if you want to go cheap then the grass bank at C2 is around 20 pounds and you can see turn 9 to 14, and there is cover if it rains, stand K1 at the end of the start streight is good and F stand gives aview down both streights.
I would not pay to go an the start streight as the building blocks everything, if you do go there go at the bacj of the upper level.
Do not get the train, it is 35RM each and you still need a taxi from the station, so you get in the jam any way, get a taxi from town around 100rm or book a taxi for the day, tell the taxi not to tale the Putra Jaya road but to go down the Elite Highway and that yopu will pay the extra toll (around 2Rm).
Dont expect to be entertained for the weekend, there is very little support activities at Malaysia, I normally drive out an hour before the race, watch it and drive home, Frankly if I was travelling I'd go to a race that had more support activities around it.
