The only fix I can think of, assuming the this thread is talking about the endless "He's st" "No he's not" "Yes he is" rubbish, is that regular posters in this section learn to ignore crass comments by thoe obviously looking to wind up.

Trying to avoid conversation and comparisons about drivers and teams is pointless, as they're perfectly valid as long as they remain factual and, within reasonable limits of sensible conversation, subjective. The problem has been a small number of people who are like a dog with a bone.

Anyone who has ever had anything to do with motorsport has made some contribution (no matter how tiny) to the current state.

there seems to be a lot of "blinkered" fans entering into "discussions" in what would otherwise be quite interesting threads. it's like a McLaren pub and a Ferrari pub have arranged to meet here for a fight.

Not all motorsports are on their backsides. WRC and F1 aren't producing the spectacle that they should be and that is primarily down to the FIA. Though they aren't solely to blame, there are plenty of people who should be hanging their heads in shame.

Max Moseley I think. He seemed to do a lot of things that didn't make a lot of sense for the sport in general, and he was a "bit" dodgy.

Todt seems to be taking out the trash a bit - getting ex-drivers on the Steward's board at races is a really good idea.

And a Hamilton pub, a Button pub, a Schumacher pub, etcetera.

Everyone thinks that they are more factual, objective, and rational than the "blinkered fan" they're arguing with. We can't avoid that attitude. But the tone of some of the posts could be more diplomatic.
