idea I've just had a thought (shock horror!)...I can think of two drivers on the current F1 grid who have won races for more than two teams, both of them reaching this milestone this season...Alonso (Renault, McLaren, Ferrari) and Button (Honda, Brawn, McLaren). Ok, so the Honda/Brawn may be classed as the same team by some, but technically they are different.

Fangio won for four teams (Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Mercedes and Ferrari), but who else has won for more than two teams?

Have fun smile

Was about to say Senna, but he was only with 2 (Lotus and McLaren) but IIRC Prost won for Renault, McLaren and Williams. Lauda won for Ferrari, Brabham and McLaren

Nelson Piquet, who I 'think' won for Brabham, Lotus, Williams and Benneton (Not sure about whether he won at Lotus).

Good shout...I have 3rd down as his best result for Lotus though

Moss achieved GP victories with Mercedes, Vanwall, Maserati and with Rob Walker (Lotus and Cooper) so 4 different teams.

I'd split Cooper and Lotus and call that 5! smile He must have most people's votes to be the best driver never to win the Championship (but that's a different thread I guess?!)

Could have added Damon Hill to that list if the Arrows hadn't conked out on the last lap of Hungary '97

In that case add J.Y.Stewart to the list with wins in BRM, Matra and Tyrrell chassis. The Matra was of course run by Tyrrell, so strictly only wins for two different teams.

John Surtees (Cooper, Honda & Ferrari)
Tony Brooks (Vanwall, Maserati & Ferrari)
Dan Gurney (Porsche, Brabham & Eagle)

I don't think Surtees ever won a GP win a Cooper.

Moss never won for Team Lotus as he wasn't ever a Team Lotus driver.

Ok, I've made an oversight given the number of seasons a chassis could be raced for and remain competitive in the ealry(ish) days.

Clarification: same car run by a different team doesn't count. Different cars only please!

My bad!tongue out

As I mentioned on a recent thread, Dan Gurney and Stirling Moss are the only two drivers to have won the debut races for 3 different manufacturers.

Prost also won for Ferrari, as well as Williams, McLaren and Renault.

No he won in a Lotus, not for Team Lotus. Rob Walker Racing ran him in a Lotus in 1960 and 1961, but rather than put Rob Walker Racing I put Lotus. Same team as his Cooper Victory though, but he still qualifies.

Exactly what I was thinking! One of the best F1 races of memory for sheer "oh for fking pete's sake..." -ness.

IIRC, Stirling didn't win on debut for Mercedes at the Buenos Aires F1 race in 1955 and despite factory assistance with his 250F in 1954, he didn't win a F1 race for Maserati either (Formula libre races don't count). And AFAIK, he never raced Coopers in F1 races.

You may need to brush up on your Moss history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling_Moss#Complet...

Admittedly it's sourced from Wikipedia, so may not be spot on.
