Don't forget to record on BBC1 and BBC2 as it changes channels half way through the race.

Ffs why can't they put it on BBC1 or BBC2 or even press BBC3 into service to cover it rage

Thanks for that. I have no idea whether Sky+ would pick up on that automatically (I doubt it) so you've just saved me from a whole lot of swearing.

I can already feel a letter to the Beeb about this coming on. Who's stupid idea was it to do this? All that's on after it is a load of religous mumbo jumbo. Why can't that be on BBC2 instead of mucking about moving channels?

FFS rolleyes Thanks for the heads up.

Chances are it'll only go half distance anyway thanks to Bernies idiotic start time (which is chosen with worldwide TV coverage in mind is it not!? banghead)

Did the BBC give any warning of the channel change during Saturday qualifying? I tend to Sky+ and fast forward through alot of the talking.

I agree, either let Jesus have BBC 2 or just spark up Beeb3 for F1

I missed this thread and am very thankful I actually got up in time to see it rather than the 'plussed' version an hour or so later. I'd've been fuming!
I watched most of qualifying and didn't notice any notification. Poor form BBC.

When does IPlayer play recordings after the event?

The obvious solution would have been to run the race uninterrupted on BBC 2 from the start.

I think the ratings imperative dictated to BBC management that it had to start on BBC1 as it a prime sport in the BBC pantheon.
However, on this (and future occasions) they need to rethink this channel switching technique which plays havoc with those who intend to record the event.

cut'n paste if you want

"Thanks for ruining a days sport for me and many more who would like to have enjoyed the Grand Prix. Many more than are interested in watching the Pope drone on in Latin I suspect.

In future, if another scheduler has a similar brainfart please ensure that you announce the fact to the thousands who expect to be able to see it on backup"

Fecking ridiculous. This should either have been on BBC2 right through, or they should have worked with Sky to make sure both parts were recorded. Or I should have read this last night instead of drinking myself into a coma hehe
