Folks, I've been talking to a few folks and managed to get a regular supply of tyres from one of the big teams out there with fingers in many pies. I can get hold of both used and new tyres. You may be aware that some championships require teams to by a number of sets of tyres for each race meeting regardless of the weather conditions, so when you get a meeting such as the BTCC at Thruxton last weekend when conditions were changeable allocations of tyres were left unused.
Obviously I'm taking a cut but I can assure you I'm not short sighted enough to take the piss, and all proceeds go to the Chimaera racing benevolent fund!
For folks racing in just the Tuscan series there’s a choice of
Dunlop 210 610 R17 Slicks & wets
Dunlop 210 650 R18 Slicks & wets
Dunlop 245 650 R18 Slicks & wets
but I can also get hold of
Pirelli 235 645 R18 Slicks
Pirelli 265 645 R18 Slicks
Pirelli 265 645 R18 Wets
Yokohama 240 610 R17 Slicks
Yokohama 240 610 R17 Wets
for folks racing in other series or for getting miles under the belt in testing - obviously data will change from manufacturer to manufacturer so setups probably wont transfer across perfectly.
I’m sure the next question will be prices!! Well firstly I'll only be offering good useable tyres, and anything that I wouldn’t use myself won't be offered, so nothing available at £25/tyre eBay special range and also prices depend on how many I ultimately buy, however as a guide used slicks will be around £60-£70 a corner and used wets around £70-90. New tyres will be at a decent discount from list.
For reference last time I got a price a BTCC spec 17" slick was ~£300+VAT a corner! Also there won't be any tyres from the BTCC (210x17") Thruxton meeting, they're a special construction, and have a RFID tag in them what was read at pitlane exit and I believe unused allocations are to be returned to Dunlop.

to give you a comparison HP have quoted me 225+vat for 18" slicks. Got a sponsor to order me a set yesterday !!!
I've managed to negotiate good prices on Willans harnesses and fire extinguishers and Cobra seats if anyone needs any. I basically get a number of orders together, and as i then buy in bulk i get the trade prices. Im putting an order in for harness's and some fire ex this week/next week, if any one needs anything.
I also have a bit of a deal with a supplier of alternators and starter motors, the smaller high powered items as well as the standard units. ( v6, rv8, ajp, s6 etc)
Im also working on a manufacturer of custom length repackable exhaust cans. These are basically you specify the diameter ( they are round cans) and the lenght and they work from there.
As most of you know we also have a good number of grp moulds from tasmin front ends to Chimaera fastback hard tops and most things in between, and if we dont have one we can make it..
From Memory in grp we can do
S1 tasmin nose
s1 tasmin 1 piece front
tasmin bonnet 350 s1 ( fits all)
tasmin boot lid
s2 tasmin 1 piece nose
s1 tas front splitter
s2 tas front splitter ( with or without chin extension)
Chim 1 piece nose
chim fastback hardtop
possibility of modding fastback for tuscan
soon s3 bonnet :-)
Early tuscan bonnet
Tuscan polycarb Headlight pods
The panels are very light weight, a bit thin for a road car, but we have beefed a few up for a road car every now and then. If you are looking for road spec stuff though TET are the best for quality panels. although there are a couple of bits like the s2 front splitter that only we do.
The above is all done to help keep the cost down when I need parts, and stuff like the grp panels are done at cost plus a bit in the pot to cover new moulds etc. The mould for the headlight pods cost a fortune...
Obviously JR has all the genuine moulds for the Tuscans, plus all the wishbones etc and is the first port of call for any tuscan parts.
Fred has the Sagaris Shells. and iirc can do new tuscan challenge chassis
TVR Monster is also another good place to look if your after things Toyo's for a start
Anyone else got any good deals?
I think Andy H had a deal with corbeau seats, and maybe the oilsafe containers.

I don't suppose you can get up to 285/18 tyres?! I'll be needing some to test on soonish so it'd be nice to find somewhere I can get a couple of cheap sets to thrash about on 
G - How much can you do leccy fire extinguishers for? I ordered a Lifeline one but they have 'supply issues' at the moment so I might cancel the order and get something else.

Hi Guys,
Just a note from my experience of running ex-BTCC rubber.
You HAVE to get rubber from the correct cars.
Slicks from the front of a Honda FWD (like Neales) will be shagged
The tails may be OK, but they tend to flip them to the front later or mix compounds to get grippier quicker.
Fortunately there's a few BMWs in again, and they run similar power and weight, so theirs is great. I've had several sets like new...just scrubbed in really.
I reckon the Vectra rubber will be OK too. Longer wheelbase, and heavier (thogh still fwd) but Fabbo is kinder to his tyres...tho fast as fnck)
Tyres are tagged now as Iian says, so it may be harder for them to..."release" tyres.

Many one make series are also RFID'ing body panels to ensure no copies are made or crashed bits repaired.http://www.tvrmonster.com/newsdunlopnew.html (Monster December)

I've never repaired one of those for anyone, nope not never... well the rrfid tags are always in place :-)
