Thanks a lot for your comment Andy. I really did enjoy the Britcar event at Brands, the endurance races may lack the mad dash of a sprint event but as you know they offer strategy, tyre changes and refuels that totally shift the balance of the race during the event. (something which a very famous series has dropped recently only to have regretted it after the first event).
Having spent a season in the paddock I have had the pleasure to meet a lot of the guys and girls involved. To know the nut holding the steering wheel makes a massive difference to your viewing experience.
With this in mind we want to raise the profile of the drivers and teams this year, with the aim to put flesh on the bones of the characters in the Britcar paddock.
Thanks again Andy

This a true masterpiece, in my view. The story of the lead battle is captured magnificently - the excitement of the cars streaming out of the pit lane, Witt's spin, Sean's pursuit, the infamous nudge, all from within and outside the cars, then the pit stops. Darren was in the right places at the right time.
And as Darren says, it's more enjoyable if you know the people involved, which is why the interviews are important.

Nice constructive comment, thanks.
The music is secured leagally for use by Britcar and Darren's films for Britcar videos. Music rights are incredibly expensive (you are looking at hundreds of pounds per 10 secs of modern commercial pop music) which makes using them on our films prohibitively expensive so our use of the music on the video is a more cost effective solution rather than simply watching cars in silence.
If the poster would like to produce some high quality music for us to use on our videos and provide us the legal rights to use it for a comparable fee then please feel free to drop me a line either on the forum or you can call me in the office on 01252 834377

You're welcome.
Music accompanying such videos is totally out of place IMO, and unless these 'silent' cars run on electricity, then as a 'pistonhead' I'd much rather hear them properly.
Of course I'm merely a paying spectator at the race meetings.
I do head up the sales and marketing department of my company however, so perhaps we'd consider sponsorship in the future.

Graham,
IMO your own Pistonheads profile is a good indication of your mental state.
Please relax, its only a video of a race meeting.
If you don't like it then please don't watch it, no one has a gun to your head.
It's very easy to criticise, so feel free to post a link to a video that you have produced and I will gladly give you my critique.
I'm sure we would all love to see your video response, especially from such an accomplished critic as yourself. (grahamw56 on youtube)

I find music on motoring videos irritating...OK ?
If you disagree , and think you're MTV's next top producer...fine.
The personal stuff is neither here nor there to me, nor to probably anyone else who posts an honest profile and is at ease with who they are.
Of course there are the shy ones like you who provide NO information on their profile...possibly Secret Service personnel...bankrupts ? Who knows ?
As you rightly point out, always easy to criticise, just that some can't take it.
Some of my youtube vids were shot by other people, for fun of course, rather than in the style of a super-professional such as your good self. but I'll excuse your presumptuousness on this occasion.
Darren - Professional? Not 2 words I'd put in the same sentence....
JUST KIDDING!!
Considering the length of time Darren has been doing this in his free time (ample I guess as I know what his day job is!) then even more reason to appreciate the work that goes into these vids.
Sure engine noise is fantastic when you hear the cars go past but IMO once youve had a few minutes of the same noise it loses its appeal. A decent soundtrack can improve the video, if you dont like it you can always turn the volume down and make vroom-vroom noises.....
Keep up the good work Darren and thanks for the advice on the camera - Spa here we come!

Then (worryingly for your company) you should understand the importance of someone like Darren bringing an added value service (free of charge & in his own time) to an under published/televised series like Britcar, and the impact such videos COULD have on a team's potential income. It's no coincidence that all of the positive comments are from particpants in the Britcar series; who probably like us, use the video's to promote their cars, Britcar and UK Motorsport in general to team/staff members and more importantly, to potential sponsors.
I know the MSA have started a dedicated website (like Youtube) for National/UK based race video's - to cater for both the amateur and the professional. I hope Darren has been in touch.....
