Hi, for the TVR part of the racing, Tim finished both races to take class A honours, as did Richard Hewitt for class B. Dave Chant got both class C wins, I got second both times (with class fastest lap in both
) and Nicholas Chandler got 3rd in the first race, but didn't finish the second.
All in all a cracking day, great weather and I certainly enjoyed myself!!

Hi Alex, Interesting weekend for your car. First it failed the noise test because "somebody" cut off the elbows on the exhaust tails. I made some make shift silencers from perforated tube, lagging, two fosters cans, two coke cans and alumnium tape. Worked wonders and reduced the noise level to 103dba. Nick did 3 laps in practice and then the gearbox let go! Nick then made a 400 mile trip for another box. In the meantime, Andy who helps me, give your Dad a lift getting the knackered box out. Nick returned at about 11.00PM but unfortunatley everybody was was pissed by then!!!!Alex

New box was fitted Saturday morning just in time for qually. Nick did 4 laps to qualify and came back in. Unfornunately the lump of wood holding the gearbox up came adrift causing the drive shaft to knock on the chassis!!!!!!!! I wondered where the piece of 2"x1" in the middle of the Goose neck had come from!
Nick completed the first race well and came third in class. Unfortunately the alternator belt snapped at some point and the car had to start the second race without it. Car was going well until it ran out of electric and the ECU decided to give up. All in all it was very eventfull.!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, here's a little vid. Nice exhaust note.
I'll see if I can take a single frame off it.

Hi Guys just dragged myself out of bed i ache all over (keith does as well i would think). I would like to thank everybody for the support and help. Wihout dave ( cheif druid on anglessey as he is now known in norfolk) and his custom "we come to you trackday silencers" we would have failed the noise test it was between 105 and 110bd. A big thanks to young andy (team NTEL) for helping me to get the gearbox out and back in again saturday morning not to mention dot/dave for feeding me friday evening.
The point i want to make is the TVR gang i have raced with right back from 2001 when i started have allways dived in and helped a fellow driver out in any way possible. We are all a credit to the series for the way we go about our racing and how we run our series. Once again thanks to everybody for the help. It was well worth the effort as nick is now champing at the bit for another go at snett so class C should be well supported this season which in my opinion is vital as its the feeder ground for most new drivers starting in TVR racing.
See you all at Snett where the blue 55 tuscan will be back for the rest of the season

Dave it looked really smooth through Hall Bends and was a good overtake on Richard into Mansfield.

Hi Ray... scuse me butting in, but I was intrigued by your reference in your profile to the old Rufforth circuit...just up the road from me. Happy days.
I sometimes helped out my friend Billy Wood, who at that time (early 70s) was racing a F5000 in Formula Libre, also at Croft.
He also raced an F2 on the European circuits.
I'll be cheering the guys on again at Snetterton.

Hi Graham, happy days, shove the 7 on the trailer, head off to Silverstone, Rufforth, Croft or Snetterton on Friday afternoon sleep in the car or at best a leaky tent, big fry-up for brekky, scrutineering usually caused some problem, practice (spin), lunch, Race (spin) eventually finish miles behind Sandy Watson/Creighton Brown/Barry Foley(brilliant cartoonist IIRC/Noel Stanbury/Ray Mallock brilliant racing. Bent the 7 at Rufforth in a downpour then trailered the wreck to Croft whilst a mate Roger Craven raced his Mallock then drove back to Lincoln Sunday evening, falling asleep at the wheel until the others pulled me over and made me take a nap while one of them drove. Then 1971 built a Mk 11 Mallock with a 1 litre MAE screamer (ex Cyd Williams 1970 F3 engine), tested it ran out of money (got married

) I was never that quick but I wouldn't have missed it for all the world.Formula Libre was an absolute spectacle, F5000 cars, Can-Am McLarens ...brilliant.
At least we got the memories!

Yes...great days.
Sadly my pal passed away a couple of years ago. Here's the newspaper report.
http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/3800223.Former_rac...
In the list of cars, they missed out the Daimler Dart that his dad bought him for his 17th birthday, and also a Maserati Bora, De Tomaso Pantera, Ferrari(246?)Dino, plus another Porsche 911 turbo, but a Flatnose SE, and very special. His fibreglass-bodied 308 GTB had the matching plate too. Great character, sadly missed.
