I really couldn't believe my eyes. There he is in the Toro Rosso, flat stick and both front wheels together with the front suspension just came off the car! Now somewhere along the line they seem to be lightening the cars at the driver's risk.

Oh my god! Very scary. I've seen failures before but that was just plain weird. Both his wheels just popped off the car.

uprights have just disintegrated - Very scary, not a part you would expect to fail...

Not a nice thing to see, but how fantastic that the safety of the cars and circuits these days allow him to just walk out, he didn't even look close to being hurt.

fortunately there was no head on impact, but nevertheless that could have been very scarey in the cockpit!

that's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen - it's absolutely simultaneous that both wheels come off, not a split second between them!

According to the team on the BBC website, the wheels are tethered to the part that failed.
