FIA GT3 at Silverstone today
Discussion
a small selection of shots from yesterday:
Aston cocking a wheel exiting Arena

Alpina B6 GT3 entering abbey

Z4 leading a GT3-R into Arena

A brace of R8s at the Arena

Today I watched the GT3 race from the pitlane, and so got some shots of them pitting.
First up.. an Alpina driver decided to do push-ups to keep warm whilst waiting

GT3-R leaving the pits

Tyre pressure checks on an R8

Z4 V8 heading down the pitlane

will post up my GT4 and GT1 photos in a bit.

it's at the discretion of the FIA, so not required.
The reason for requiring manufacturers to homologate cars is normally to discourage them from making insane cars which clean up...
in GT3 and GT1, they do equalisation of performance... so anyone can enter with any car... they have a test driver drive them all, and then work out what needs to be done to ensure they're all on the same footing. (add/remove weight, adjust air restrictors etc)
