Do you support a team or a driver??

Always been a driver supporter not the team, used to hate McLaren but now both my drivers drive for them!

So I'm "supporting" Kubica this weekend - but I am actually a fan of his to tell the truth.

I used to support Jordan(awaits boob joke), was obsessive about them at one stage.

Nowadays I'm much more casual in my followings, I like when the nice guys do well, so at the moment I like, Mark Webber, Jenson Button (who has surprised me this year) and Rubens Barrichello. I also cheer on the new teams and share their joy in the most minor of victories, go Lotus

McLaren all the way - couldn't care less who the drivers are as long as they stuff it to the Ferraris... though it is nice to have two Brits on the books I suppose.

I support England in the World Cup, RWC, Cricket.

It's no different to motorsport.

However, just like I can appreciate the Brazilians on a football field, I can appreciate Alonso et al.

Bit of a mix really. I've always been impressed with Alonsa whatever he drives.

Also been a fan of Kimi & Massa since back in their Sauber days... so they were always my underdog team too.

Kimi & Massa both at Ferrari were an easy package to support as I've always been a red car fan.

Typically I support anybody who's fighting to get to the top, rather than being there and fighting to stay. Particularly the Brits.

So Brawn definitely last year. Red Bull/Torro Rosso as they have been pulling themselves up to play with the big boys and want to win.

I'd like to say Williams but they don't seem to have the drive.

Always been a fan of Webber since he got a Minardi home in a great position, and Vettel because he's...well he's just so damned quick.

But I can't say there is one team or driver I support. I just want to see people fight their way to the top.

Generally, men will claim to support the team (even if, on closer questioning, it's because Driver X is with them). Women tend to support the driver.

I could suggest a theory for that going back to the hunter-gatherers on the Serengeti, but I'd probably get a bking for being sexist.

Always been the English drivers for me,Hunt then Mansell,Damon Hill and now Button,but if Button's out of the race I'll support Hamilton.
Never been a fan of Coulthard or any other Brits

I am another with an inclination to support the drivers in general, though I have long had a bit of soft spot for Williams and McLaren. I also used to like Ferrari, but not in recent years (lost interest in them around the time Alesi left and their road cars started looking like they were styled for footballers).

No. I support Motorsport in general.

I like seeing drivers drive a blinding race. It doesn't have to be the winner.

I don't support a team in particular. I have a soft spot for Williams from the Damon Hill days, but recently they have lost their way (firmly at the hands of Sam Micheal IMO).

83-84 It was JPS Lotus & Nigel Mansell
85-87 Still Lotus but with Senna, and glad Nigel was winning with Williams.
88 I was lost, no wins for Nigel & Ayrton had left Lotus. Then in August, while an 11yr old me was on holiday in the Lake District an old man in Italy called Enzo Ferrari passed away, Gerhard & Michele finished 1-2 at Monza and I became a huge Ferrari fan.
89-90 My Tifos'-ness went OTT when Mansell graced the scuderia stable
91-95 Alesi. Always promised to be the next Gilles Villeneuve, but too many years in un-reliable stboxes spoilt the dream. Was just coming good in 1995, but too late because MS was coming...
96-00 The great years, MS bringing the Ferrari team from an un-reliable, un-organised shambles to the most dominant force since Mclaren 1988. 1998 was a fab year, MS often beating the mighty Mika/McLaren when he really should'nt of had a chance. Also had respect for Irvine in the number 2 Ferrari, his speed, savvy and charm getting him far....and almost to a lucky Championship!
00-03 Still followed the increasingly dominant Ferrari, but Button & Montoya were breifly favourite stars.
04-06 Alonso, doing in the Renault what MS did at Benetton all over again.
0-08 I wished Alonso well, but he did'nt make it easly for himself & Hamilton wowed us all. I really lost the Ferrari thing with Kimi & Fellipe
09 - Just Jenson, Finally!!
10 - If push comes to shove I want Alonso/Ferrari to win, but quite happy to see MS, Rosberg, Webber, Button, Sutil, Lotus, Kobayashi all do well

Good WHEEL TO WHEEL racing is all I want.

Used to support Williams, but lost interest when they sacked Damon, then supported McLaren, but got fed up with their holier than thou attitude under Ron. Like them again under Whitmarsh.

Currently hoping Williams would do better, and enjoying Buttons recent Macca form.

Always support Fred, since I rate him the highest.

Genuinely delighted when one of the minnows does well (especially Lotus).

Always loved it if Jordan or Paul Stoddart's Minardi got a result (for them).

IMO part of the fun of sport is picking someone to support and stcking with them thick or thin.

I support all the British and mainly the drivers. Mansell, D Hill (though not really through personal choice!) Hamilton. Although I'm very happy to see JB win, it's not the same as your chosen favourite and technically I was a Hamilton fan (2003) before a Button fan anyway.
