F1 package v booking own trip to monaco 2011?

Anyone been on any of the organised packages? Were they any good?

Am looking at going to the F1 in 2011

Ideal would be stay at the columbus (but they are not answering enquiries and will no doubt change somewhat now DC has sold to a big private co) and have seats in casino square for practice & qualifying then seats on the tunnel exit for Sunday. Is it a pain getting tickets privately?

There seemed to be an awful lot of space in the grandstands this year, which makes me wonder if booking privately is likely to be easy enough?

book cheap easyjet flights ,find reasonable accomodation in nice,preferably somewhere
near train station for access to monaco and buy f1 tickets direct..job done
also hiring a car is an alternative as even on gp days you can get reasonably near ..
