Seriously though - do it, you never know. I've done similar things and had great times, you never know where you'll end up - who knows, it could be the guy checking the passes to get into the paddock.

I have started to look around for a change of job at the moment, I toyed with the idea of looking into the F1 teams for spots (traditionally I've stayed in the oil sector) - did you get this via an agency/sub-contractor? Curious...Security management background btw.
In his retirement my Father, along with his neighbour, took up event marshalling/security management type stuff.
This week they're away at Henley Music Regatta, he's worked this for a few years and met many stars, some of whom tip big money (I seem to recall he was once slipped a crisp fifty just for finding 'someone' a decent car parking space out of the mud).
They manage security at parties including the half million pound 21st birthday party of George Bamford, son Sir Anthony Paul Bamford - great event which was Bond themed and iirc featured cars from the films and Boy George amongst others DJing.
He's valet parked cars belonging to the royal family, the guests at the aforementioned party, and met many many stars of film, tv and music over the years. Often with extra perks like tickets.
Loads of stuff is given away during the clearance of events too.
He's a clever bloke. His management skills as well as general knowledge and his design engineer past help. I think he holds conversation well with others and it works for him in particular circles.
I believe his neighbour has recently been appointed head of security at Silverstone...which is nice. I think he's working the GP when he's back Friday. I'm dreading him coming home with reports of having valet parked Anthony Hamilton's Carerra GT !!
Not a bad past time for retirement, or a little extra pocket money.
