New Safety car regs!

"AUTOSPORT understands that agreement has been reached simply to slow the F1 cars down much more than before under the safety car.
Instead of operating to a 'delta' time of 120% of a regular F1 lap before the cars form up behind the safety car, as under the old regulations, drivers will instead be forced to slow down to the actual estimated speed of the safety car itself."
So it seems the gist of it is that when the safety car is deployed the cars all have to slow to the estimated speed of the safety car rather than drive to a 'delta' time as before.
First thing that popped in to my head is what happens when you have 2 cars dicing for position, car behind eyeing a pass car in front sees the warning first and slams on the anchors to get to 'estimated safety car speed' and then....

I know accidents have happened under the current regs but this idea seems to be asking for trouble if you ask me

Wouldn't the best idea to do what the Americans do? Shutdown the pitlane until the SC has caught the pack which have come in at their own speed? All this timing nonsense is one other thing to think about when you're piloting something that wants to kill you whenever possible whilst watching for marshals/bits of car/Sauber front wing...
Could easily go back to having a closed pitlane. Only removed it because of people having to stop because they were running out of fuel to had to pit and take a penalty for it but, with no refuelling, that is no longer a problem.
Downside is that everyone pits at the same time so increasing the danger of collision in the pit lane itself.

How would that work when travelling at 200mph, slam the brakes on?Another Webber flying lesson if the car in front had better brakes.
Best thing to do as above is close the pitlane and shuffle the runners until they are all behind it in the right order. No one needs to pit because they aren't running out of fuel.

In any case the stacking stops teams being able to get out at once and being that pitlanes like Interlagos and Spa are too small methinks collisions would be the order of the day in the rain...
