Vitaly or Kimi?

It seems the latest rumour involving the Iceman is him to Renault to partner Bobby K as the team is seemingly very competitive indeed with both Vitaly and Robert performing well with the car, but as we know the young Russian has been impressive this year for a rookie (Anyone remember the fun Algesuari had thanks to his testing being 2 whole straight line runs?) and it would seem a shame to drop him at this stage but as we know Kimi would probably get better results is he had enough of a prod.

So which one are we likely to see in the Renault alongside RK next year, the Finn or the Russian?

I don't think Kimi will ever turn back to F1 after WRC, seems like the WRC is a new chapter and challenge he is actually enjoying, seems silly to go back when you can only really progress in 1. He'll be pretty rusty in an F1 car now i'd have thought.

Unless he can get a seat at another mid-field team I think it would be a shame for Petrov to lose his seat; half way through his first season and he's already scored points and put in some promising performances on track.

On autosport, Kimi is to stay at Red Bull Citroen for another season leaving the door open for a possible return to F1 in 2012 .

Considering that he has recently signed another one year contract with Red Bull (that is for the 2011 season), no.

It was a joke. But as for the binding nature of contracts in sport or F1 you only need to look as far back as Kimi...

Very interesting. He is happy to stay in WRC but clearly he has a choice to make between something. Maybe a team has offered him an F1 seat? Vitaly brings sponsorship but I bet Raiokonnen brings more.

Petrov has I think done a good enough job to deserve a seat for next year - but I have to admit that if I were Renault and Kimi was available (and it wouldn't break the bank) then I would take him over the russian in a heartbeat. Vitaly might be a promising enough talent but Kimi is a proven race winner with a WDC in his trophy cabinet.

I don't think Kimi is that interested unless he can win. If I was in charge at Renault I would stick with Petrov for that reason.

I've heard the same; Kimi to stay with Citroen WRC till 2012 then maybe return to F1. Webber's RBR contract runs out then, and after all the favouritism malarkey he could be off elsewhere. Hmm...

I cannot think of one possible reason to employ Kimi. Except maybe as a doorman on the hospitality palaces, to tell the fans to fk off.

He was always good at that.
