The Official 3 Week Break Thread 2010***SPOILERS***
Discussion
So, in the absence of any F1 stuff on telly, what are PHers watching and doing instead?
Recommend me some weekend TV viewing or some meets to go to.
I need to take my little boy to his first ever Motorsport event, my little girl's was a hillclimb at Loton Park. These upcoming weekends might be the ideal opportunity to do it.
If you aren't doing anything motorsport related, what are you eating whilst you don't?

Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher has blamed his poor form in his Formula 1 comeback season on his Mercedes car. He said: "The car is not at all in harmony with the tyres, or also with us as the drivers."
He is such an arrogant prick. Nico is doing well with the car while this guy drives like a rookie and only complains. They should kick him out right now and let Heidfeld in (though he's now jumped ship to Pirelli to test the 2011 tyres).Edited by MSTRBKR on Monday 16th August 11:42
British F3/GTs yesterday and Lotus Elise Trophy at Cadwell this Saturday coming. Going to be a busy few weeks - Oulton Park Gold Cup, Masters @ Donington, DTM, LMS and Goodwood Revival over the following weekends as well. I'm afraid I struggle to justify stopping in to watch F1 on the telly when this country's blessed with so much brilliant live racing to watch.

The odd tenth quicker in qualifying than the 7 time world champ in the same equipment is not easy. And he often finishes ahead of Schumacher in races.
I haven't seen or heard Nico tell any news agency anything like the damning Schumacher gave the car in the above quote. It's arrogant to blame it all on the car but not on himself, as his team mate is ahead of him.

I thought this was going to be a thread all about what the drivers & teams are doing during their 'tools down' 3 week hols...
Sorry, I tried to find a Schumacher thread but couldn't see one in the first 5 pages in Gen Motorsport and making another thread would be pointless. I thought it was sort of appropriate as it is news from this 3 week period, but I only really posted it quickly because it angers me that he can say something like that to the people working hard for him.Edited by MSTRBKR on Monday 16th August 13:16

I think it is more obvious now why Jenson jumped ship. He probably realized that with his Brawn failing to make much progress half way through 2009 that 2010 was not going to be any better.
Given the hand-to-mouth existence they (Brawn) had through that period, you may well be right - it was always going to be an uphill battle for Mercedes this season. Hopefully next year's car will be a good one.Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
