Seven different marques on the grid in GT3 alone... 'citing 
It's a pretty cheap day out for the family and there is usually some close racing - if you've never been its worth a look because its a longer, 2 hour race with refuelling as well as the normal pitstops.

Without question one of the best British GT races I can remember. A shame more people weren't there to enjoy it & a shame Silverstone couldn't open more stands up, the one on the inside of Copse & the one between Bridge & Priory to name 2.

This despite Silverstone continuing to treat spectators with distain. Is it any wonder people don't come to the circuit when you have to park outside, walks miles to get in & then can't sit in a grandstand to watch in comfort. Shame on Silverstone for taking the p***.
People had taken matters into their own hands and broken the cable ties securing the barrier across the entry to one of the stands.
Silverstone is always a poor place to spectate at these sparsely attended meetings, everything is just too far apart, especially now there's no bridge over the pit straight.
The new pit complex is coming along nicely though.
Also, anyone know why they were racing on the old Bridge circuit and not the new Arena layout?

Yes, I think the last British GT race I watched which was that good Win Percy was driving a Harrier LC9! Must be 15 years ago...
I find a major issue at Silverstone these days is the lack of provision all round the circuit. Frankly you're buggered if you need a drink anywhere except in the paddock. I realise takings might be slow at Stowe (rhyme delibrate) but folk need food and drink. There wasn't even a burger van at Abbey. Very poor.

The problem is the track won't open up the stands as they cannot provide staff cover for it (H&S etc) therefore , keep it closed(less wages for the day too) I deplore this, as sitting in a grandstand helps enjoy a day out. I heard that something to do with work on the new pits on Saturday meant the Bridge layout had to be used. Also, anyone know why they were racing on the old Bridge circuit and not the new Arena layout?
Also, with every other event going on these days, some tracks struggle to get Marshals, and looking at some posts yesterday, there were enough for the one layout, but the full Arena layout would have struggled to meet minimum manning levels

They should knock up some big grass banks so people can get a decent view without needing a grandstand seat. S'pose it's all geared to the GP though, and that won't change unless events like this get big old crowds in.Mutley said:
