With the announcement that the Britcar GT Championship will be awarded the title of the Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship from 2011 we thought it would be a good time, as everyones thoughts begin to turn to next year, to clarify the different Championships Britcar will be running in 2011.

This will be for GT cars with 3 classes at the same performance levels as the 2010 Britcar GT Championship, effectively catering for cars from GT2 levels of performance, GT3 levels of performance to GT4 levels of performance. The majority of races will be 3 hours in length.

This will cater for GT and Saloon cars with 2 classes at the same performance levels as the 2010 Britcar Production Championship, effectively catering for cars from GT4 levels of performance such as GTCup competitors to Touring Car and down to single make saloon levels of performance. The majority of races will be 2 hours in length and are suitable for single or multiple drivers.

A single make Championship for the Vauxhall VXR Maloo pickup. Cars will be rented out by Britcar Ltd and will be strictly controlled with regards tuning and upgrade parts to keep costs down. Race weekends will consist of 3 x 40min races with a mandatory pitstop to allow for driver changes. The cost of rental includes the entry fees for the races for the year.

I take it 'guest championships' are being lined up too - that's too much racing for 1 day but not really enough for a full Sat/Sun (unless prod races run combined gridwith the GTs like at Snet)
7 hours racing alone - I'm guessing 1/2 hour each for qualy + 15min warm up for both the enduros, throw in the smart cars (if that one flys) & Brian's lungs will be worn out

Hi Guys, I'd be happy to look at both the corporate ID and Website. I agree they could both do with bringing up to date. Having been around Britcar since 2003 and racing where budget allows i understand the 'product' very well.

Cheers
Chris

I would be more than happy to look at the website and make it more interactive and CMS driven. Some of our work:

I'm sure there's lots of web site designers who would love Mr Tuckers money.

There must be a load of arty types on here who are good at this stuff and would love to put there name to it.

Why not have a competition to design the logo?

Marketing is much more than just 'arty' types playing with pretty designs or web developers trying to include the latest and greatest widgets!!!

You need to look at strategy, target market etc etc. Don't worry if you've fallen asleep by now !! - Seriously though I do think the whole marketing strategy of Britcar plus the new brands needs to be aligned with the business plan now, It's the perfect time and i wasn't particularly after Mr Tuckers money, although he's had quite a bit out of me over the years - biglaugh

I like the V8Utes idea, BUT you should allow the option of buying too. I looked at it, then saw rent and thought, no. If I'm coughing up that sort of cash, plus running costs, I want the asset on my books!

Best of luck. Hope it takes off. If you change your mind to allow people to supply their own, let me know.

Thanks caw we try our best smile Our website is being totlaly redesigned (for the tenth time) as it does not reflect our core business which is hosting then design and then marketing SEO and knowledge products. I am busy writing two new courses. What's your speciality?

As for the Porsche I have been beaten into submission by my bro and friends into getting a humble Clio 172 smile They have all bought one to do track day trophy so we can compete against each other and share knowledge although mine is going be entered into the 24 hour next year by which time it will be making around 240bhp so should be fun. It will give me a chance to get much needed on track experience and then for 2012 I shall either run it for the complete Britcar season or look for a drive with another team or get a Porsche, depends how I feel I have progressed driving wise.

Best
Mark.

Hi Mark
We now focus on strategy and planning, until recently we've been full service but changing the way we do things now. I think the market is changing very rapidly at the moment.

Racing plans sound good, hoping to be back out there myself next year after a couple of lean years !! plus building a house.

Cheers
Chris

So, how is the V8 Ute idea shaing up How many have signed up?

I prefer this idea instead:

http://www.nznewsuk.co.uk/sport/?id=15937&stor...

Could even fit bodiers from European or Japanese styles on it.

(although still way out of my budget!)

We have just received the first Ute here at Britcar Towers and we will start pulling it apart and getting it ready for testing. We have a build slot provisionally with Holden in Australia for the build of the Utes pending our final spec confirmation (depending on testing of the components). Vauxhall have confirmed their support of the Championship and have given permission for use of logos etc to form part of the livery of cars and promotional material.

The delays with the paperwork for the project means it will probably launch late this year for a full season next year.

We have had alot of interest in the Championship from teams and drivers, we won't ask for any money from anyone until we can confirm the specs and championship details but I'd be very surprised if we didn't see more than 20 cars on the grid for the first race.
