Ferrari/Ducati & Marlboro
Discussion
After Ferrari & Ducati were told to drop the barcode graphic on their machines because it was tobacco advertising are they still going to be sponsored by Marlboro next season? Personally I think the machines look much better without the barcode on them, but it is a huge empty advertising space that could be filled by another company. Anyone know what is happening?
I'm pretty sure that Fiat are following Rossi to Ducati. As for Ferrari, Marlboro own all the space and sell it to other companies to advertise on the car so as long as that is bringing in the revenue I dare say they're not overly concerned. As far as I'm aware they're still "title sponsor" until the end of next season.

Does that mean a closer link/merge for Fiat and Ducati are on the cards? I will be glad if the Ferrari keeps its empty space as it is one of the best looking cars on the grid due to its lack of sponsor logos.I don't know about a closer link or merge, as I understand it Fiat are Valentino's sponsor rather than Yamaha's strictly speaking, I think it's just a case of them following their man rather than a sign of future dealings between Fiat & Ducati. I'm sure it won't do either group any harm though being associated with one another, especially with Italy's golden child aboard one of the bikes!
