Wales Rally GB - Friday - Which stage is best?

Not been to the rally for years and still undecided about whether to go to Hafren, Sweet Lamb or Myherin.

Anyone got any advice on the pros and cons of each eg parking, distance from parking to stage, viewing points, facilities, likely crowd size etc.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I went to Sweet Lamb on the Friday last year and its a great stage. It has the best access, parking, facilities and viewing spots of all the stages I have been too.

From the main viewing area near the rally school building, you can see the cars for a good 2 minutes as they decend into the valley from the right, pass you over the jumps, hairpins and watersplash then go up the valley again on the other side .. . great stuff!

Sweet Lamb is easily the best for viewing, although the nutters with too many fireworks and too little common sense did spoil it some what last time I went (.... admittedly this was a few years ago). Or has it calmed down these days?

There wasnt any fireworks when I went in 2008, just shocking weather as normal lol

Sweet lamb is great as you can see the cars for quite a long time and theres a couple jumps down there etc.

Its worth getting there early for a good viewing spot because there are a lot of spectators on this stage. I almost got pushed off a steep embankment onto the stage road itself by some over eager Finnish fans last year lol

Did you go in the end? We went yesterday, did Sweet Lamb SS3 first thing then headed to Builth Wells Remote Service Park for an hour and then to Myherin SS7 where the weather was proper hardcore rallying weather in the middle of nowhere!

Trust me..it was much better being inside the "Sweet Lamb Motorsport Complex" with hot food and free bar than being outside in the cold and wet

I went to the same, SS3, Service and SS7.
I was going to head down to cardiff but by the time I got down there I decided I'd had enough of driving so headed back to surrey.

Cheers, I'm amazed the camera survived considering how wet it got, had to wrap it it a Morrisons plastic bag in the end

Ah so it's a sheep barn Me and my dad were thinking it was a proper motorsport building and that they used the area for testing rally cars etc!

Sad to hear about Paddon's broken suspension but fair play to him for only losing 4 minutes over 3 stages with a trailing arm gone and the suspension held on with tie straps!
