Sorry if its a repost, here's Alonso & Massa on one of the new Ferrari World rides. Makes you realise how quick it is when you see Alonso's face under acceleration laugh I've been on Stealth at Thorpe Park (0-80 in 2.5 seconds) and thats quick. This mother does 0-100 in less time yikes

0-60 in 2 seconds, 150 in 4.5. It is very quick. I had a go on it today (in the front seat) and I can confirm you need the safety goggles they give you. You pull out of the station slowly, then stop as the compressed air builds up. Then it pins you to your seat on a flatish bit, and once you get to 150 mph it goes up a very steep hill, only to drop straight after the crest. If you didn't have a seatbelt you'd probably fly a good few hundred yards. Then follows a few banked turns, still at over 100mph, a few bumps and the braking zone. That alone is enough to get your lunch back out!

So exhilarating my girlfriend and I couldn't stop giggling for a good 10 minutes after!

Looks like Alonso has sat to close to the fire when it takes off!

So fast, in fact, that the contents of Mr. Alonso's pockets fly out after around 24 seconds hehe

That sounds like it's really good fun.

Strange to me that Alonso seems to be a bit scared, which is odd given he drives an F1 car at warp speed around a track and risks his life on a race weekend!

Probably because he's in control of the car, same way that some people really don't like being the passenger in a car, especially when it's being driven enthusiastically.

I love driving/riding fast, but hate coasters, and being a passenger.

I seriously hate moving and not being in control, this counts for planes, boats, busses, trains, everything really. hehe

I suppose the other differences between this and being in an F1 are the lack of helmet, protection around you and sitting upright, so really it's not very much like it at all.

On a side note, I'm still wondering if the whole theme park is worth it... It's OK, but a lot of the attractions leave a lot to be desired, so if any of you guys are thinking of going, make sure you have other good reasons to be in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. I guess the queues can get a bit scary too during the GP weekend!
