It appears (courtesy of BBC's gossip) that Hispania are up for sale.

Will be interesting where that leaves Senna and Chandhok.

The collapsed Toyota deal was the final nail in the coffin.

They have no capability,money of infrastructure to make a new car for next year.

Unless a miracle happens

Possible buyers for it

One of the teams that didn't get entry last year.
Villeneuve (hasn't he announced he's going ice racing with Prost?)
Prodrive/Dave Richards.
Another team picks them up as a 2nd 'feeder' team like Red Bull/Toro Rosso.
Death and 12 teams next year.

Prodrive's back in the WRC starting next year
and a full season in 2012 with Mini
so i doubt they would be interested now.

I think it's one of those "wait and see what happens"
It will just be a total waste if they collapse.

The cars seemed quite reliable, maybe someone could use them in Britcar with some wings and lights fitted.

They are not going to be competitive anywhere else!

Relatively, not at the moment. Just like all the new teams (which they aren't THAT far off the others), they need budget, development and a consistent drive line-up. Or they become a glorified F1 taxi.

I don't want to lose a team from the grid though.

Don't know who will buy that then, Prodrive won't not with the Mini project and didn't Richards say he wasn't interested in F1 now?

Most people took their offers off the table after no team was added for the coming season, perhaps only Villeneuve and Durango are in a position to mount another bid?

the problem HRT have is that they have not got the ability to build their own car! so need their buyer to have that or contrive it themselves, not exactly a strong selling position. After the fiasco with trying to buy the Toyota chassis anyone they go to will want cash up front...

It would be a shame to see the number of teams reduce, but they really face an uphill battle

Oh I'm sure they could go to someone like Dallara and get them to knock up something.....

There's a deal in place to run the rear end of a Williams, so maybe the new buyer can bolt that to the front of an F3 car. Let's face it, it won't be any worse than the poor excuse for an F1 car Dallara nailed together for tghem this year!

Didn't Senna say he could lap Monaco quicker in a GP2 car than in the HRT. Many didn't expect them to see out the season so fair play to them for makingit to the end, doesn't look too good for next season though.
