Lotus Renault is the other team, but the Lotus part is only a title sponsor like what Vodafone is to McLaren Mercedes. From what I gather, the team will still be known as Renault and the TV graphics will still say Renault as they did before.

pesonally I think that Mallaya is getting unfairly stiffed over this. he did a lot to work with lotus early on, emplying old lotus staff and has thrown a lot of personal money at the project. the "new" lotus are riding on his coat tails a bit.

I think Tony Fernandes has got a worse deal than ol' Vijay to be honest...

completely agree with you, he is the one that not only put the original effort in, but then also did lotus days for the fans and properly bought the name we all love and the colours we all love back, now lotus want a slice, when, i dont think they realised they were getting something for nothing :s, now they are getting less for more, confused, we should be!

There's not necessarily anything ICANN can do about it if Group Lotus don't actually host anything at all at teamlotus.com. If, on the other hand, they pointed it to the Group Lotus website then, yes, Fernandes et al could launch an action.

I was under the impression it'a all about trademark ownership, irrespective of what you do with it.

It's more to do with the ownership of Lotus Racing etc - that's still an ongoing legal battle ( i think - I've lost track of it ) !
