F1 N/A vs Turbo Video
Discussion
Which do you prefer?
That Turbo does sound good but when I'm at a GP I would have the N/A any day.

Those turbos sound just so right to me. Miss them bigtime. Nothing beats the sheer noise and rumble in your chest from what is a lot of power per bang, compared to these wheezy high-revving hairdryers. I think it's about what you grew up with though.
yes, but they are V6 bi-turbo, not the poxy 4 pot singles being proposed.Ah I thought it was about mid-late 80's turbo v's mid-late 80's NA as per the vid. I didn't realise the topic was a winge at the 2013 regs. Forgot which forum I was on for a moment there!
In that case, fair point. The 2013 engines will sound nothing at all like these old proper high pressure turbo's on this vid. Lacking volume, lacking growl, lacking chest-rumble and lacking the sweet salivating high-octane type after-smell.

That Honda V12 almost sounds as good as a Matra MS670 V12.
V12's f
king rock, don't they?
If I were the rule maker it would be V12's only, maybe 4.0/4.5L something like that getting 1000hp+.V12's f
king rock, don't they? The sound for me is one of the main reasons I go to a GP. I love taking someone to a race who has not been before and watching how they react. Usually goes something like "JESUS CHRIST!!"
Really hope the turbo's aren't a let down.
