2 stories from the F1 gossip page today.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula...

1: Red Bull Racing have dismissed suggestions they overspent last year and breached Formula 1's Resource Restriction Agreement, as behind-the-scenes efforts continue to try to frame fresh cost restraints for 2011.

2: F1 teams are slow at paying their bills, with Red Bull Racing the only outfit to pay its suppliers on time, according to a report.

So maybe if they didn't pay their bills they wouldn't spend so much? hehe

Red Bull F1 were given an unlimited budget to win.
So i'm not unsurprised that there's plenty of rumours about their budget

"Red Bull Racing has been particularly vocal in the most recent FOTA meetings about clamping down on areas of spending outside the RRA, and in pushing for changes in the review period for overspending and how penalties are dealt with when there is a breach."

But I'm sure they all have some creative accountant departments.

Having been to both RBR and McLaren, RBR looks like a backstreet garage in comparison...

The McTechnology centre is something else !
But nothing to do with their yearly budgets.

Agreed - although it gives an indication, and to a certain degree you need the right type of kit.

The MTC was built before the RRA came into effect but I think you'll find they can spend what they like on things like fancy factories anyway, the resource restrictions focus on key parts of the business that directly affect on track performance such as number of personnel and the amount of time they can spend in the wind tunnel / using CFD, it's not a carte blance restriction on their annual budget as a whole.

There's always been a lot of piss taking by the teams , regarding budget allocation. "Consultancy services" was always a favourite.
