I'd be amazed if Bernie gets arrested. Even if they link something to Petara, a lawyer writing a letter to him does not prove his guilt.
I could write a letter to Garlick demanding the last 30p of my 3 quid bribe to keep his caravan fetish quiet, but it doesn't prove that he either bribed me, or has a caravan fetish.

Someone with Bernie's skills, experience and collateral would never get convicted based on this letter / transaction history alone..
