Tarting up the engine bay and chassis bits and bobs

Can anybody recommend a suitable brush on paint I can use to tart up the engine bay and chassis bits please or do I just get a couple of tins of smooth hammerite?

POR15 is very strong stuff, but a bit more expensive then hammerite, its designed to painted directly over rust, or bare metal, but its best to use a primer on very clean bare metal.
Just don't get any on your skin, or anything else you don't want it on, as you can't get it off.

I always found smoothrite a real pita to get a good finish with using a brush, and you need to do it where the metal is warm, not -10 like it is now.

having said that since hamerite was sold the make up is different so it may be easier now.

It's not that expensive, plus I only used a 1/4 of a tin to do the complete chassis.

Satin Black Halfords spray works well.

Now if it's a tin of spray paint you want, surely Poggy can help you with that!

Rustoleum combi colour, which can be mixed and supplied in any BS4800 or Ral colour you like. Good stuff but takes a while to dry (overnight)

If they're small(ish) bits of steel, take them off and get them electroless nickel plated, either that or take a walk to Halfords and pick the colour acrylic spray of choice.
