+1, Bahrain has much more to think about than an extravagant event like this!

i know its normally a credible source, but there's nothing on formula1.com, and the count down timer is still going for Bahrain. Pretty poor show for the official website if the BBC really are more up to date than them!

BBC are saying race has been postponed until a later date which is I guess TBA, season opener now 27th March in Australia.

""We must focus on immediate issues of national interest and leave the hosting of the race to a later date," said Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. "

I checked FIA too and was hoping the BBC had it wrong - but I was then sent this so its looks like its off. Plus the FCO are advising against all non-essential travel.

I know its a boring track, but I was really looking forward to my F1 fix!!!!!

Given the political situation there, I suppose this inevitable. We'll now have to wait a bit longer for the season to start. I'd agree with the previous poster, not the most exciting track.

Jake Humphrey: "So, first race of the year will be Australia, which somehow just feels right doesn't it?"

The man is quite correct!
